OH MY DOG! I am a big sister.

Oh my dog!!!!!!!  On Sunday I became a Big Sister.  Yes that's right folks.  Me, Stella, a big sister.  Now for everybuddy out there who didn't know, my mum and dad love Cocker Spaniels and also Great Danes.  In case you haven't realised Mum is a total animal lover and would probably have one of everything, but that's not possible.

Anyway getting back to my NEW BROTHER, I think he is the cutest thing around, apart from me of course.  Ok, ok, here is a photo for you all to go squeeeeee.

Settle down everybuddy.  I have to say, I have been the perfect sister and my cousin Tyler has been perfect too.  We welcomed him with open paws.

Check out my flying ears.

The only thing I have found is that I don't like him coming near my food bowl and if I eat really quick I always have the urge to run and steal his food.  He runs away when I go Grrrr.  Poor little squirt.  Mums says I must stop being a meanie but where food is concerned I do get pretty hungry especially with all the extra exercise with my brother.

Well that's all for now.  We are pretty busy here.  I'm so glad mum and dad got a puppy brother.  Wasn't it nice of them to get one the same size as me.  I think I will have fun with the squirt.  P.S.  Sometimes he is so tired he sits (and I don't mean squats) when he has a wee.  Its soooo funny.   As yet, we haven't named him but as you know, we are the nerdy family, so be prepared for a nerdy name, probably from a nerdy show.

No worries, and love, Stella
Mum here, Stella and Tyler have really been wonderful in the last 36 hours.  She has the advantage of being more co-ordinated than little fatty but already he has a weight advantage.  So far so good.  Early days.  Will catch up with everyone's blogs soon.

  2. Wow! That is one handsome dude and I marvel at his ability to pee whilst seated. I am going to try that myself.

Now, about the foodables. Pea is a total food nut too and so when he first came to the estate he had to eat in his crate. And then for like totally two years momma had to watch him and give him the evil eye lest he scare me away from my foodables bowl. Now he is slightly more mature and at least waits until I am finished. Plus his new eat even slower bowl makes it take as long for him to eat as it does me.

  13. Stella, he's gorgeous and we did some squeeees here. But you are right about the food thing and he needs to know that you're really the boss...because we have the feeling he might outgrow you soon.

  15. Mazel tov! Now you are complete: one Cocker, one Dane, one visiting Lab - as it should be. While Abby encourages you to establish yourself as the senior doggie, do be mindful that if you bully him too much when he's young, one day he's going to realize he's WAY bigger than you and he'll turn on you. Mama had that happen once with a young Dane and a basset-mix; the bullying basset ended up with about 36 stitches in her neck and shoulder. An ounce of prevention and all that.

Slurpy kisses to both of you,

    Jed & Abby

  19. Am I just dreaming or is it really..... a great dane brother you just got ?! Yeepee ! How fabulous !

He is SO SO cute, do you know he is going to be very very very tall ? I can tell you that Stella because I am a great dane and my neighbour is an English Cocker Spaniel (he is black and white though), and I am like a dinausor next to him ! hee hee :-D But that's OK, size doesn't make everything does it ? I'm sure he'll be the greatest brother for you and you're gonna have so much fun together !

I am so happy for you and your family, and of course : welcome to your lil' bro :)

    Lots of Love,

  23. Hi there Stella...
What a wonderful suprise!!! But what is his name??? He sure is a handsome little fella and I know you are going to have some really energetic puppy romps! Careful he doesn't take over that pretty bed of yours because I am sure he's going to get MUCH larger. Mom asks...is he a Great Dane or a Weimaraner? He has such glossy fur. You guys must be thrilled. I am looking forward to his journey too.

Than I saw it in the comments of our common friends...
And I said that must be right than...
