I AM THE CLASS CLOWN

Howdy Mates, the other day we were at Dog School and we were practicing our drop and stay manoeuvres.  Well I admit, I am, as you know, kind of a sleepy, lazy boy.  Our teacher was telling the class that when you signal your dog to drop, the owner walks away and turns towards them and stands still facing the doggie.  The doggie must stay in a drop position.  You know, down on your tummy, feet out in front, looking as regal as you can.  Well this is how it should work in theory.

She went on to say that in trialling, if a doggie rolls onto their side, its called a 'dead dog' and you are disqualified.  Well there we were, doing our lessons and guess what.  My mum and all the other mums and dads put their dogs in the drop.  The teacher was talking and mum looked down and this is what she saw.  (This is a re-enactment hehe)

Mum calls to the instructor and says, "Is this what you would call a dead dog?".  Well the whole class totally cracks up cause there I was, on my back, waving my legs in the air like a plonker.   We have fun in our class that's for sure.

Later that day, we went for a walk.  It was fine and sunny.  What a nice change from cold and wet!

Well mates, that's all for now.  Oh, by the way, has anyone seen my sissy.  I can't find her.

No worries, and love,

  13. There's no point going to class, is there, unless you can all have a good laugh?
It would be so boring if everyone did just as they're told.

  15. Dear Rory, I wish you'd been in MY class. Then it wouldn't have been so boring. I'm a school dropout, did you know that? I only went to school one summer then my humans got lazy. They said it was because I'm smart enough already. Come on! Even I don't believe that ;) Hooroo! X

  29. I don't see what the fuss is about. If you are required to assume a recumbent position for extended periods, might as well be comfortable.

  32. You are the class clown, no doubt. But I'm sure your teacher loves you. After all, she won't even have to bend down to give you a hug! And it was nice that you went to visit your friends the cows. They make you look so small.

  36. Ha! Ha! Rory - that is a hilarious story!! Sometimes I think those serious, uptight Obedience competitions need a lot more "class clown"!! :-)

Just finally catching up with my blog friends again - great to see you both looking so well!

  38. Class clowns are the best! In our training class - it seems like the title of class clown is rotated among all the dogs. It's nice that they share! My favorite was when a very large labradoodle started knocking the orange cones around instead of just walking around them!
