Mum remembers this day as one filled with memories of the day her son was born and also the love of a wonderful, sweet and beautiful mother.
Our Nana loved her grandchildren very much and they loved her too. She is missed everyday. This is a photo of our brother Paul with Nana when he was two weeks old.
So, on this day we celebrated our brother's special day, went out for tea and had some yummy cake. Well everybuddy else had some, we missed out! Totally unfair.
Another thing about our Nana is that she absolutely LOVED christmas. She always wore her christmas hat and loved this singing Father Christmas.
Yesterday mum was trying to get some Christmas shopping done. She was useless. No presents but she did come home with this magnet! She saw it in a bookshop and just had to buy it.
We bigified it so you can read the words.
So mates, that's what this week held for us. Mum says it's so nice having lazy sleepy dogs.
That's it for now. We'll leave you with Nana's favourite singer. Mum says she reckons Nana was a little bit in love
with Dean Martin.
See ya soon.
No worries, and slobber, Rory and Stella
Happy birthday to Paul and nice to remember Nana. We too are behind on all things Christmas but we have got our cards out. Yours is on the way. Have a super Saturday.

Yes, a bitter-sweet time. Nana looked a lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteI can see why the magnet was a must have.
Don't panic about Christmas just yet!
We hate to tell ya that our Mommy has all her shopping done and all gifts are wrapped. She is almost done with our cards too. She just has some packages to mail out.
ReplyDeleteI think this is kismet, listen to this... When our Grandma died (Mommy's Mom) Mommy cleaned out her Florida house. She took all of Grandma's Christmas decorations home with her to NY. When she was packing the van, there was one box that would NOT fit. There was just no way she could have squeezed that one last box in, so Mommy had to leave it behind. Stay with me here.... So here we are in Florida for the winter spending Christmas in Grandma's house (the first Christmas here in almost 16 years). Mommy remembered that ONE box that never made it north. She crawled up into the attic and pulled it out. IT'S THE SAME SANTA THAT YOU HAVE! It was our Grandma's favorite too! Santa is proudly displayed on the table right next to our tree. It's a sign I'm telling ya!!
We think of our Grandma every single day. And sometimes I swear I feel her petting me. We miss her so much.
Hugs,
Lily Belle
Happy burthday to Paul. My MOM says "no worries" all the time. I have no idea why, or where it came from. Just know she has said it for as long as I can remember.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Happy Birthday, Paul! It's nice that you have such warm memories of your mother.

Happy Birthday, Paul! This is the time of year to be remembering grandma's we think. Ours has been gone since 1974, but mom misses her especially during this time of year. Mom says she got her "crazy dog-lady" gene from our grandma!

Happy Birthday to Paul and sweet thoughts of Nana. We always wondered why you always sign off on comments with "no worries". Guess it is a tribute to Nana's memory - very nice.

It's always hard when there's something happy and something sad on the same day. Dean Martin! Now there's a name from the dim dark past ;) X

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tribute to your Nana! A Happy Birthday to Paul. It must be a bittersweet day for your Momma to combine one of her happiest moments with one of her saddest moments. I have a Dean Martin Christmas cd. He was a wonderful crooner. As for you sleeping dogs, I say, a sleeping dog is always a good dog! :)
