A New Bed

Howdy Everybuddy
Before I had a chew on my chicken foot, mum ordered me a new bed.  I waited patiently.

It arrived in the mail.  A pop bag???

What the heck is that blue thingy?

Oh my dawg.  It's getting bigger.
And bigger.

Would you believe that blue bag was full of squished foam which puffed up and filled my new bed.  It was amazing.

Er, mum, there's a spider on my lounge chair.

Hehehe, my bed now.

Aww, what do ya mean we have to share?

Sure mum.  You know I'm a good sharer.
I love to share.

Mine I say, aaaaaallll mine.

A few days after my chicken, er foot, eating episode.
Aaah, nice and comfy.

No worries, and love, Stella and slobbers, Rory

P.S.  There is a photo of Rory's injured foot if anyone is interested.
It is quite gross so if you are squeamish, don't bother looking.
Just scroll down real fast without looking if you want to comment but don't want to see the photo. I've left a big gap between the photo and the comment panel.

I'm not sure how his foot will look when it heals and if the nails will actually grow properly.

Take care all.

  1. That foot does look yucky.... But if you have to stay in bed, looks like you've got a fantastic one--or at least half a fantastic one.

  8. that's a super comfy dog bed and it's big enough for you and all your friends. I think your nails will grow back, like my nails did. Only one of my nails looks a little strange, it has a small dent on the side (the area where it was broken and removed later by the vet)

  26. Nice job on the foot, mate. Jed will send you a photo of his permanent leg wound, if mama ever gets the desktop updated so we can access our photos again. See you're wearing the Official Headgear of The Wonky Foot Club, too - the Cone. Jed proposes adding some tassels or something to dress up the Official Headgear. Being as how Rory and Jed are charter members, we should have a vote. Jed's is actually decorated around the outer edge with nice duct tape, to keep him from hitting the plastic against furniture until the plastic splits.

We are most interested in your new bed. We've never seen one with inflatable foam. Looks nice and squishy-soft. Hope Stella has her own by now, so Rory doesn't have to 'share.' We're guessing Stella 'shares' the same way Abby does -- by hogging the whole thing.

  27. Phew...thanks C. My dad scrolled down really fast. Thank you. That's a real nice bed. Everyone has to try it out but it's definitely yours Rory.

  28. What an awesome bed! Sorry we have missed all of Rory's foot pains looks like things got pretty gorey. Have you considered instead of a cone trying this: ProCollar Premium Inflatable Protective Collar. The ProCollar is a great alternative to the traditional E-Collar, providing less stress for a quicker healing time! The ProCollar is very well tolerated by dogs and cats because it does not interfere with their vision. Pets wearing the ProCollar are able to eat, sleep and play at ease while staying protected. It is made of a vinyl inner bladder that is inflated through a two-way air valve, much like a beach ball. Once inflated, the size and thickness of the ProCollar function as a soft deterrent. The inner bladder is protected by a durable and comfortable canvas jacket to resist against bites and scratches. The ProCollar is held in place by inserting the pet's everyday collar through the ProCollar’s three inner rings. The Velcro strap should be placed at the back of the neck and then adjusted for a custom fit. For proper sizing, measure your pet's neck. For breeds with longer limbs or breeds in between sizes, always size up! Sending our strongest White Dog healing energies to our big friend.

  29. Oh Rory - we only just found out about your foot today - that's how out of touch we are thanks to MUM!! How awful mate - you must have very limited feeling otherwise you would not have chewed so bad!! Poor foot - and your poor mum and family would have done a LOT of worrying about it too!! So sorry and we hope it continues to get better and better!! Being a big doggie means that there are big issues when things go wrong - like the stoopids plastic cone of shame not working properly!! But on a lighter note - I loves your new bed and note that there is an element of "sharing" that you two do automatically! Please stay out of the wars and I'll try and check in more frequently. Hows our weather??? Yesterday was exciting huh????
