Back from the Vets - No Worries

Hi Everybuddy, Stella here.  We are back from our trip to the Vets.  We are both really good and don't have to wear the cone of shame unless we lick our stitches too much.  I have tried a couple of times but with Mum, Dad, and all the kids watching us like hawks I don't have much chance do I?

I did feel pretty miserable when I got home.  Rory was his normal self.  Stellie, my bum's sore.  Rory, that's not your bum, mate.

I think I will just sit on a comfy lap to ease my sore bum.  Oh blimey Rory, its not your bum you plonker.   Well it feels sore down there so what else could it be?  Muuuuumm, Rory's being an idiot.

I don't want to play with my toys or chew my little bone.  I'll just sleep for a while.   Zzzzzzzzzzz

I'll just drool for a while.

Carol here, we got through the first night fine.  Pups were up at 6.15 am and absolutely full of beans.  I don't know how I am supposed to keep them quiet for the next 10 days.  Rory is back to his normal self and Stella, while still seeming a little sore, is ruling the roost.  Her tumour was removed and all is fine.  She has about five stitches in her neck and four in her tummy.  Rory has four on his testicles (or what's left of them, poor little fella). We go back in 10-14 days and have them removed.

They both ate like horses this morning and life goes on.

Have a great weekend everyone.  No worries, and love, Carol, Stella and Rory

Bert, these photos are for your hat competition.
Mum has made us look like fools, even though we are invalids!

No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  1. I am glad that all went well and both are doing fine. Take care aboth and no nibbling stitches.. Hugs GJ x

Having trouble commenting as me on your blog

  2. Hi Stella and Rory, thank goodness your mom finally got around to posting about your trip to the vet. We were all worried. Sorry Rory, it's going to sting a bit and Stella, you had a lumpy removed so that's going to affect you for awhile. But a few days rest and you'll be okay again. How's the outside doggy house holding up?

  3. Dear Stella and Rory... I am soooooo glad that both of you are recovering so beautifully after the removal of those Pesky.. EXTRA BITS and BUMPS.
You are both doing well.. with not needing to wear the dreaded CONE(S) of Shame. WHEW.. Well done Stella and Rory!! Keep up the perfect behavior.
Ummmmm Rory... maybe you should ask fur an Ice Pack to sit on fur a while... I'm just sayin.
PeeS... thanks fur the good words about my Ernie's Bump. I will tell him what you said and I know it will make him (and MOM) feel less worried. ... SEE... NO WORRIES as you love to say. THANKS

  4. Hope you two heal up nicely and quickly! It was such a challenge to keep Darwin laying low during her recovery time cause she's such an Energizer Bunny!

  5. Hi Guys, So happy that you made it thru - try not to jump around too much will scare the peeps!

    Happy Healing, Tail Wuggles, Rubie

  6. Just think, there be so many icky sickies you won't get now coz those pawts is gone. No funs, but afore you know it, bizziness as usual! Let me tell you a little sekrit. Can you get Vicks VapoRub ofur there Down Under? You can has your mom put some around (not on, around) your stitches so if'n you lick it tastes icky and reminds you not to lick. An old V-E-T told mom that trick and she has used it with lots of fosters. But some still needed the cone anyways coz they figgered out how to rub the Vicks off on the carpet. Oh, oops, shhhh.

  7. I know how it feels mate. Sometimes I get Mum to tie a couple of golf balls to my tail but it's not really the same... Deccy x

  8. We read that as Rory had 4 testicles...Bwuhaahaa! Where's that lens cleaner?

Keeping them 'quiet' for the recovery is the most difficult thing.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella

  9. Almost all of us have been through these operations, and while we might have to complain a little , it doesn't last long. Us girls don't have to worry about litters and puppy feeding and puppy sitting!

    Good work!

    Stella Up Over!

  10. Rory and Stella-
Glad to hear that you all are doing okay. Best listen to your mama and no running or jumping for 10 days...good luck with that!

  11. Lightning got out of his cone tonight - mom says good luck keeping those two quiet:) Glad things went so well.

Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  12. So glad you are both ok. Poor confused Rory, it is good you are there Stella to keep reminding him of whats what.

Especially glad the growth on your neck is nothing to worry about.

do your best to help your mom by staying quiet for the next few days.

  13. I am so happy everything went well! Keep us posted.

    Your pal, Pip

  14. We're glad the worst part is behind you [no pun intended] and you are on the road to recovery. Just don't rip out those stitches; you won't like getting them put back in. Jed can vouch for that. Are they doing a biopsy on your neck lump, Stella?

    Jed & Abby

  15. That whole "take it easy" stuff is kind of hard to enforce, but seriously important so you two just practice your meditations, OK?

  16. So pleased you are both home safe and sound. Pleased you don't have to wear those awful cones! Any lickers here get to wear a tshirt with a large number written on the back (the hoomans think they are so funny!).

Now about taking it easy..that's pretty hard too do.

    Have a good weekend.

  23. Glad you are both healing up well. Your hats are nice, your opinions to the contrary notwithstanding.

    xoxo Marjie

  24. Hello Both, so glad to hear you are both home and well and getting lots of cuddles. Please continue to get better and we'll soon be reading about your naughty antics again ;-) Dex and Lou xxx

  25. so glad to hear that everything went well at the vet's! They are both very good pups! Yes, keeping them quiet afterwards is the hardest part, I think! When Honey had her spay, she was such a boisterous puppy that I couldn't keep her quiet for the week afterwards and she ran around then jumped and played and burst her stitches!! (And you know, for the females, it's quite a big operation) – we had to go back to the vets to get them re-stitched and then ANOTHER week of "rest" –aaaaaarrrrggghhhh!!

    Love the drooling photo! :-)

  26. I'm so happy to hear that you both made it through so well. Poor Rory does seem a mite confused, though. Remember to stay calm so you heal nicely.

    Nubbin wiggles,

  27. holy cow you guys
woo sure you're okay.. that dazed slow droolie face is a bit concerning.... You'll be back to normal before you know it.
PS- the hats are better than cones. just sayin

  28. Glad all is well from the vet. Sending White Dog healing energy that you both heal quickly and painlessly. Glad you avoided cones.
