Back from the Vets - No Worries

Hi Everybuddy, Stella here.  We are back from our trip to the Vets.  We are both really good and don't have to wear the cone of shame unless we lick our stitches too much.  I have tried a couple of times but with Mum, Dad, and all the kids watching us like hawks I don't have much chance do I?

I did feel pretty miserable when I got home.  Rory was his normal self.  Stellie, my bum's sore.  Rory, that's not your bum, mate.

I think I will just sit on a comfy lap to ease my sore bum.  Oh blimey Rory, its not your bum you plonker.   Well it feels sore down there so what else could it be?  Muuuuumm, Rory's being an idiot.

I don't want to play with my toys or chew my little bone.  I'll just sleep for a while.   Zzzzzzzzzzz

I'll just drool for a while.

Carol here, we got through the first night fine.  Pups were up at 6.15 am and absolutely full of beans.  I don't know how I am supposed to keep them quiet for the next 10 days.  Rory is back to his normal self and Stella, while still seeming a little sore, is ruling the roost.  Her tumour was removed and all is fine.  She has about five stitches in her neck and four in her tummy.  Rory has four on his testicles (or what's left of them, poor little fella). We go back in 10-14 days and have them removed.

They both ate like horses this morning and life goes on.

Have a great weekend everyone.  No worries, and love, Carol, Stella and Rory

Bert, these photos are for your hat competition.
Mum has made us look like fools, even though we are invalids!

No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  2. Hi Stella and Rory, thank goodness your mom finally got around to posting about your trip to the vet. We were all worried. Sorry Rory, it's going to sting a bit and Stella, you had a lumpy removed so that's going to affect you for awhile. But a few days rest and you'll be okay again. How's the outside doggy house holding up?

  6. Just think, there be so many icky sickies you won't get now coz those pawts is gone. No funs, but afore you know it, bizziness as usual! Let me tell you a little sekrit. Can you get Vicks VapoRub ofur there Down Under? You can has your mom put some around (not on, around) your stitches so if'n you lick it tastes icky and reminds you not to lick. An old V-E-T told mom that trick and she has used it with lots of fosters. But some still needed the cone anyways coz they figgered out how to rub the Vicks off on the carpet. Oh, oops, shhhh.

  8. We read that as Rory had 4 testicles...Bwuhaahaa! Where's that lens cleaner?

Keeping them 'quiet' for the recovery is the most difficult thing.

  9. Almost all of us have been through these operations, and while we might have to complain a little , it doesn't last long. Us girls don't have to worry about litters and puppy feeding and puppy sitting!

    Good work!

    Kisses,
    Stella Up Over!

  12. So glad you are both ok. Poor confused Rory, it is good you are there Stella to keep reminding him of whats what.

Especially glad the growth on your neck is nothing to worry about.

do your best to help your mom by staying quiet for the next few days.

  14. We're glad the worst part is behind you [no pun intended] and you are on the road to recovery. Just don't rip out those stitches; you won't like getting them put back in. Jed can vouch for that. Are they doing a biopsy on your neck lump, Stella?

  15. That whole "take it easy" stuff is kind of hard to enforce, but seriously important so you two just practice your meditations, OK?

  16. So pleased you are both home safe and sound. Pleased you don't have to wear those awful cones! Any lickers here get to wear a tshirt with a large number written on the back (the hoomans think they are so funny!).

Now about taking it easy..that's pretty hard too do.

    Have a good weekend.

  25. so glad to hear that everything went well at the vet's! They are both very good pups! Yes, keeping them quiet afterwards is the hardest part, I think! When Honey had her spay, she was such a boisterous puppy that I couldn't keep her quiet for the week afterwards and she ran around then jumped and played and burst her stitches!! (And you know, for the females, it's quite a big operation) – we had to go back to the vets to get them re-stitched and then ANOTHER week of "rest" –aaaaaarrrrggghhhh!!

    Love the drooling photo! :-)
