Remembering Brucey

Bruce

Hello Everyone, today is one year since our beautiful boy Brucey crossed to the Rainbow Bridge.  It was a day of great trauma and distress.  Our boy Bruce was not well from the day he came to live with us.  We loved him with all our hearts and he loved us right back.

Tyler loved him too and they were best mates.

Brucey you were my special boy and one who will always hold a very special place in my heart.  Very few people knew the real Bruce. He only showed his true self to those he trusted and loved.  My little man, who lay his large gentle head on my lap, who always followed me around the house and never wanted me out of his sight.

Everytime we have scones, they remind us of you Brucey.

The original Three Musketeers, Brucey, Tyler and Kara.

You taught me to be a more understanding person.  You showed me that not everyone sees the beauty that is sometimes right in front of them.  My little man, you were too delicate for this big old world.  I hope you have the peace I dreamt of for you.  I cried a million tears for you Brucey.  Loved forever, forever in my heart.  Miss you little man.  Always will.  Love Mum X

Brucey, you inspired me to begin your own dog blog and introduced me to so many great people and their pets.

I want to thank four special people.  Hsin-Yi, Nancy, Nicoletta and ML.  The support you gave me was invaluable.

This is not meant to sadden people but rather just to let you know how much I loved that little man.   Life has moved on as it always does.  Kara has passed to the Rainbow Bridge too.  Stella and Rory have entered our lives and brought laughter and joy into our family.

For everyone in our blogging community I wish you,
No worries, and love, Carol

P.S.  Stella's ouchie has not gotten any bigger and she is fine.  Thanks Vickie and Fern.

  8. Carol - we still think of Bruce constantly - in particular, every time we read "No worries" at the end of your comment, we remember him - as he was the first doggie to sign off in such a unique way! :-) And yes, we remember that wonderful post Bruce did on his favourite scones...it's funny, I remember him every time I see a scone too!

I too can't believe a year has already gone by - he still feels so near sometimes - but I'm sure he would be happy to see how Rory & Stella have joined your family and how they have made you smile & laugh again. I know how hard you worked for Brucey and how traumatic things were for you and I admire your courage to this day.

It was lovely to see all the photos in this post - because Brucey left so quickly after you started blogging, we never got to see very much of him - so it's wonderful to "catch up" a bit on his life now. He will always be missed.

    Thinking of you -
Hsin-Yi (& Honey the Great Dane)

  19. Hi Carol, my mom and dad still remember each year's anniversary of my uncles' passing. It still makes them very sad. So they understand how you feel and they wanted me to tell you that they bet that Bruce misses you just as much.

  20. I know the feeling of loss, and I know how the special memories make you laugh while you cry just a little. It's wonderful that Stella and Rory have arrived to help fill that giant hole in your heart (and to help you eat scones). Bruce was a very handsome big boy, and I can see that he was a great help in the kitchen, too. Rory has much to learn about helping.

  23. It sounds like Bruce was very special and I'm sure you miss him lots. Thanks for letting me meet him in this post.
BTW: I like your idea for the Blogville Community Calendar! I'll be working with my Mom this weekend to see if there's a way to include Bark/Gotcha Days. I'm not sure how we can do it, but we're gonna try. Thanks for the great idea! :)

  25. Brucie looked to be a real gentle giant, we can understand how you miss him so much. Our Mom had a boy before us Piper, who she says was her soul dog so she knows exactly how you feel and what Brucey must have meant to you. xxxx

  28. Oh Carol,
it is so incredible that already one year has gone by...
I perfectly remember the day I got your email.
You found a very nice way to remember Bruce!
You worked so hard with him, but it was too much for him, it was fair to let him go...
He is lucky he will never be forgotten!
    All our love
