Rory Vs The Cone of Shame

After three nights wearing The Cone of Shame.

On the second night, Rory managed to chew off his bandage even with the Cone of Shame on.  Mum said he is a rubber neck with legs that are way too long.  Rory's bandaged leg now smells like Vicks VapoRub.

Mum rubbed some all around the outside of the bandaging, with another bandage covering this.  Last night.... no chewing.

We are going good here mates.  Rory's wound while still looking horrible, does not smell, so antibiotics are working well.

We had to take the Cone of Shame off during the day cause mum's midriff was criss crossed with lines from the Cone and you could have played noughts and crosses on her, hehe.  Rory likes to rub his head on mums middle and was head butting mum all the time (but not in a mean or naughty way, just in an ear rub kind of way).

He is watched like a HAWK and in the day has been a very good boy.  THANKS EVERYBUDDY for your Kind wishes.  We love you all to bits and pieces.

P.S.  from mum.  When Rory originally chewed his foot for the second time, he was wearing his boot and actually chew through his boot and two bandages underneath that.  We are checking out more options for footwear for him.  Also to Riley's mum, thanks for the suggestion of a muzzle.  It was something we had not thought of and would be easier than the Cone of Shame.  It's just a matter of finding one big enough and comfortable enough for him at night.  Your support has helped me immensely dear friends :-)  

 

 

 

Rory's Foot.

Hi Everybuddy.  My brother has been bad.  Real bad.

He ate his foot again during the night.   Dad got up for work at 3.00 am and found blood, more blood and oh it was horrible.

Mum is very sad.

As you can see, Rory feels bad and sad now himself. 

(That is not blood on his bandage, that is a plastic bag over the bandage cause he had been outside).

I feel sad and am a bit scared of his cone of shame.

I'm not going anywhere near it.  I'd rather sleep on the cold floor.

Mum and sissy took Rory for a cuppa and scones after the Vet visit.  Rory knocked mum's cream all over the floor with his cone of shame. 

The vet said 15 days of antibiotics, 10 days of pain relief, constant bandage changes (which mum can do herself) and of course the dreaded cone.  Rory has such a huge head and long neck we're not sure the cone will work properly.  We shall see.

Keep Rory in your thoughts mates.

And mum, cause she just feels sad.

We can cope with the wonky leg.  That's fine.   It's the bloomin' nail business that makes us worry.

Sunday Smiles

Howdy Mates.  Today is the first day of Winter and baby it's cold outside.  We're counting down the days till Spring! 

I found this old photo and told mum 

she HAS to find my good pink scarf.

Our cousins Tyler and Jinx have been over for a visit.

Tyler is having plenty of sleep overs cause our sissy works away on the trains.  He gets spoilt while he's here.

Rory says, anything you can do, I can do better.

Move over mate. 

 Jeez, I'm glad I didn't get the big bottom that runs in the family.

I don't know why Rory would even dare sit on the good lounge.

Oh, hehe, now I can see why.

We like our cousins coming to visit.
