Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013

After a week day of over-indulgence, things were getting back to normal.  Presents put away, dishes washed and books and DVDs to watch.  Ahhh, I'll just sit down and put my feet up................

WTH is that smell?  Oh for the love of dog Rory, go outside mate.  I knew I shouldn't have given you that left over ham and pork.

Ooooh, arghhhhhhh, gurgle, grumble, phftttttt!  Ahhhh.  Mum, my tummy ache feels better now.

What the heck is that wonderful smell coming from the family room?  Mmmmmmm, smells devine.

I was going to post a year in review but alas have run out of time.  These past weeks have flown by.  Christmas has come and gone and 2013 is rushing towards me (help I'm not ready for another year yet).  The one thing that has been constant is the love of family and that includes our two rascals.  They have given me more laughs than I can remember.

As you can see from the photo below (Jan 2012) Stella was a bossy little turd darling.

Now, December 2012, she is still a bossy little, er, darling.  But believe it or not, Rory absolutely adores her.

He sleeps, she keeps an eye on things.

Butt (hehe), one thing is certain.  We all know who is Queen of the Castle don't we Stella!

So dear friends, put your best foot forward in 2013 and our good wishes for happiness and good health to you all.

No worries, and love,
Carol, Stella,and Rory

Howdy Mates and a video!

Howdy Mates

We've been busy lately, as has everybuddy.  We had our brother's birthday, our mum's birthday and our sissy's birthday.  Whew!  That was a lot of cake eaten.

Hey mum, have your jeans shrunk? hehehe.

This cake was made by our sissy Lisa.  For many years our angel Poppa always made the family birthday cakes but now our sissy makes them.  She always makes fabulous cakes!!

Tyler (our cousin) went on a holiday to Beachport with our two sissys and had a ball.  He loved the water and they had a wonderful time.

Our sissy said the jetty in Beachport is about 772 metres long
and is the second longest one in South Australia.

We have received 30 Christmas cards and 11 e mail cards (yaahooooo)!   Mum and Dad have received 2, BUTT, they said "Mum and Dad AND FAMILY", so we are taking half of them so that means their count is ............ 1, ahahahahahaha.  We will post a photo soon.  Thanks to everybuddy, our Postie must be wondering what the heck is going on.

To finish off here are a couple of short videos for your amusement.  See ya soon mates.

No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

Tongue Piercing? Ouchie, holy mother of dog!

Howdy Everybuddy.  What a day I had today.  Well actually the fun started Saturday night when my brother found a chewed up thumb tack on the lounge room floor.  Where it came from no one knows and it's a mystery.  Did it come in on someone's shoe?  We just don't know.

I didn't tell mum but I had a good chew on it for a while until I felt a stabbing pain right in the middle of my tongue.  Home job tongue piercing?  Dont even think about it!   Warning tongue photo below (not mine thank dogness!)

I didn't tell a soul about my painful encounter cause it darn well hurt and I was feeling stoopid.  Anyhoo, by Sunday morning my tongue was sore but I still didn't let mum know.  We went to School and I was a little turd star.  I think I forgot to tell everybuddy but I have passed into Grade 6 but Rory is still in Grade 5.  I've decided to stay in his class till he gets used to being on his own.  He loves me butt is a sooky guts and always wants to be near me.  He can't help it though.  He is my little brother.

Anyhoo (again), on the way home Mum thought I seemed a little quiet butt it was a pretty hot day so she thought I was worn out.  I slept quite a bit but still ate and drank and didn't drool or pant.

Next day, (today, Monday) mum went Christmas shopping (again) but came home with nothing but had managed to stop for coffee and a muffin and chat with a friend for about 87 hours.   I was home, suffering I tell you, suffering!

Mum finally came home, sat down to have coffee, again, and I yawned in front of her.  Well that was it, she jumped up, grabbed the torch and nearly rammed it down my throat.  My dog she sure had a good old look.  I sat like a little turd angel while she had me in the head lock.  She called the family and said I had something stuck in my tongue.  Then she thought she would check Rory's tongue to see if it looked the same so he had the torch rammed down his throat while she felt around.  Nothing on him and after this he ran and hid under the dining room table.  Why oh why, didn't I think to do the same I will never know.

So after a quick phone call to the Vet I was tossed in the back of the car and off we went.  My friends, I was amazing.  I sat wriggling and squirming still as a statue while Miss Prue checked my tongue.  After a couple of minutes, yes she could see something.  She thought it might be a grass seed although she thought this would be highly unlikely.  So because I was so good she said I could stay on my own for a little while so she could have a good look.

Well mates, you would be proud.  I lay there and didn't move a muscle the whole time.  I believe I looked similar to this except I wasn't at the footy and I wasn't on my sissy's lap!

Stella, you little ratbag, you were under an anaesthetic.

Oh mum, you don't know, you weren't even there.  As I was saying, there I lay, calmly letting Miss Prue check out my tongue while I counted sheep in my head.  Next thing I know, mum is back and off we went home.  Apparently I had a cut/pierce on my tongue, an ulcer had started next to it and it was pretty raw.  I had an injection of antibiotics too.  My dog, I was so brave.

Butt, after all this trauma, stress and shock, the worst was yet to come.  Mum will not feed me.  That's right mates.  She says I cannot eat until tomorrow!!   What!  Please, ring the RSPCA for me will ya?  I'm STARVING.

Well I'm feeling pretty sleepy now so will go and have a snooze.

I hope mum feeds me tomorrow zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

P.S.  From Rory.  Stella is fine now, just cross cause she isn't allowed to eat till the morning.  And by the way, I'm not a sooky guts.  Well, not all the time anyway!

No worries, and slobber, Rory and Stella

Paul, Nana, Shopping, Sleeping and Dean Martin

Howdy Everybuddy, sorry we're late but Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends who celebrate it.   We've had a quiet week.  This Thursday it was our brother Paul's birthday.  Mum says how can he be 26 when she's not much older than that herself.  WTH, mum have you looked in the mirror lately??  On the same day it was also three years since our Nana passed away.

Mum remembers this day as one filled with memories of the day her son was born and also the love of  a wonderful, sweet and beautiful mother.

Our Nana loved her grandchildren very much and they loved her too.  She is missed everyday.  This is a photo of our brother Paul with Nana when he was two weeks old.

So, on this day we celebrated our brother's special day, went out for tea and had some yummy cake.  Well everybuddy else had some, we missed out!  Totally unfair.

Another thing about our Nana is that she absolutely LOVED christmas.  She always wore her christmas hat and loved this singing Father Christmas.

Yesterday mum was trying to get some Christmas shopping done.  She was useless.  No presents but she did come home with this magnet!  She saw it in a bookshop and just had to buy it.

We bigified it so you can read the words.

So mates, that's what this week held for us.  Mum says it's so nice having lazy sleepy dogs.

That's it for now.  We'll leave you with Nana's favourite singer.  Mum says she reckons Nana was a little bit in love
 with Dean Martin.
 See ya soon.
