I didn't tell mum but I had a good chew on it for a while until I felt a stabbing pain right in the middle of my tongue. Home job tongue piercing? Dont even think about it! Warning tongue photo below (not mine thank dogness!)
I didn't tell a soul about my painful encounter cause it darn well hurt and I was feeling stoopid. Anyhoo, by Sunday morning my tongue was sore but I still didn't let mum know. We went to School and I was a little
Anyhoo (again), on the way home Mum thought I seemed a little quiet butt it was a pretty hot day so she thought I was worn out. I slept quite a bit but still ate and drank and didn't drool or pant.
Next day, (today, Monday) mum went Christmas shopping (again) but came home with nothing but had managed to stop for coffee and a muffin and chat with a friend for about 87 hours. I was home, suffering I tell you, suffering!
Mum finally came home, sat down to have coffee, again, and I yawned in front of her. Well that was it, she jumped up, grabbed the torch and nearly rammed it down my throat. My dog she sure had a good old look. I sat like a little
So after a quick phone call to the Vet I was tossed in the back of the car and off we went. My friends, I was amazing. I sat
Well mates, you would be proud. I lay there and didn't move a muscle the whole time. I believe I looked similar to this except I wasn't at the footy and I wasn't on my sissy's lap!
Stella, you little ratbag, you were under an anaesthetic.
Oh mum, you don't know, you weren't even there. As I was saying, there I lay, calmly letting Miss Prue check out my tongue while I counted sheep in my head. Next thing I know, mum is back and off we went home. Apparently I had a cut/pierce on my tongue, an ulcer had started next to it and it was pretty raw. I had an injection of antibiotics too. My dog, I was so brave.
Butt, after all this trauma, stress and shock, the worst was yet to come. Mum will not feed me. That's right mates. She says I cannot eat until tomorrow!! What! Please, ring the RSPCA for me will ya? I'm STARVING.
Well I'm feeling pretty sleepy now so will go and have a snooze.
I hope mum feeds me tomorrow zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
P.S. From Rory. Stella is fine now, just cross cause she isn't allowed to eat till the morning. And by the way, I'm not a sooky guts. Well, not all the time anyway!

Dear Stella, that was ouchy I'm sure but HILARIOUS! If you'd kept your thumb tack, you might have been the only dog in the world with a tongue piercing!

Ouchie, ouchie, mega ouchi, Miss Stella. We bet that must be so sore. But Mom says the tongue usually heals quickly. Let's just hope the antibiotics work so you don't get an infection. Good thing Mum rammed that torch down your throat:)

Oh sear Stella! I sure hope your tongue heals up quickly so your Momma doesn't starve you anymore. That was kind of a silly thing to do playing with that tack and hopefully you've learned your lesson. How wonderful that you made it to the 6th grade and what a great sister you are staying back with Rory. That is pure love my friend! :)

ReplyDeleteOMD! We are sending White Dog healing energies that your tongue gets back to normal quickly, Stella! Please do NOT chew on weird things that do not smell like food...it is never a good plan! Moms are the best.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Hope you are feeling better:)
ReplyDeleteStella,
ReplyDeleteWe is so very happy dat you is ok now, but we is still sendin' boxer puppy prayers to you to helps you heal faster.
Woofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae and Max
Yikes, Stella! Hope you're better now and your tongue has healed. Tongues are pretty resilient. When Jed was a young pup, he was part goat. He'd eat anything: metal, rocks, tree nuts, leaves he jumped up to pull off the trees. He got mama's box of sewing pins off the living room table and mama was terrified he'd eaten them. Not sure if he did, but fortunately no harm was done, no organs were pierced. Anyhow, hope you won't do anything like that again. Sounds like Rory was a sympathetic comfort during your suffering.
ReplyDeleteOh no, just seeing this now - oh Stella, darling, I hope you are feeling much better after your ordeal!
ReplyDeleteAnd I just know your Momma has fed you by now but we surely can appreciate the trauma of not being fed the regular assortment of foodie stuffs that are supposed to be server the in the puppy direction.
