Howdy Everybuddy. I woke up early last week when it was my birthday. Six thirty a.m. is a perfect time for everyone to rise and shine in my opinion. Unfortunately, not everyone is of this opinion. Mum was the only one to rise to the occasion.
I had put in my order for my birthday breakfast treat. Yes, you know it. Vegemite on toast. Mmmmmmm, slobber, slobber, yum yum, come on mum.
Now for those of you who haven't tried our tasty spread, there are many differing views on how much vegemite to spread on your toast. We love it and always have plenty but the trick is to also have heaps of butter. Mmmmmm. Mum was brought up in a household where the butter looked like cheese when it was spread on bread. Cholesterol? Try not to think about it.
Can we eat now mum? What do you mean you want to freshen up so you look your best for the photo? Who cares, let's just eat!

Jeez mum, you sure scrubbed up well. Gorgeous jammies.
Totally satisfying mates. If you get the chance, give it a go and let us know what you think. Most people outside of Oz think it's rubbish and we just can't understand why. Anyhoo, to top off the day my sissy made me a special birthday cake too. It had full sized pears baked into it. Totally yummers.
Tyler wanted to help with the candle or possible just eat all the cake hehe.
I got two new teddies and I loved Mr Purple Koala and I let Stellie play with Mr Teddy.
Well that's it from us.
See ya next time or see you at the Olympics!
No worries, and slobber, Rory and Stella
Rory, Mom has tried vegemite. Says she will not try it again BOL! Glad you enjoyed it :) Luv the pear cake you got! Nommers! Very nice of you to share your new stuffies with Stella. You're such a good bro! :)
ReplyDeleteWaggin at ya,
Roo
Stuffies ... you got Stuffies.. EVERYWHERE.. even on your Blog Background... how cool is THAT.
ReplyDeletePEAR CAKE??? I have never seen or heard of that before butt it looks DELICIOUS.
However, when our furend Barb who lives in Manilla,NSW, came to visit us once... she brought Vegemite fur us to try... and we really DID give it a go... butt sadly it is just not somethingy we cared much fur.
GLAD you like it though.
Pawesome birthday celebration, Rory.
ReplyDeleteWe have not had Vegemite and you are right, we hear differing opinions. But the Momster is a butter lady, and that HAS to be REAL butter, not margarine. Everything tastes better with butter. We agree.

Well mate, over here in Blighty we have Marmite and we LOVE it. So naturally Mum thought she'd like Vegemite. She bought a huge jar as soon as she got to Oz. She says she doesn't want to be rude fellas, but it tastes like sh**e!! Looks like she'll never make a decent Ozzie! Deccy x
ReplyDeleteYou have vegemite , we have marmite but one thing we can agree on is cake and toys. Hope you had a lovely time Rory.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We have that here and it is called Marmite. There is an advert that you either love it or hate it. Mum is firmly in the haters corner, LOL. Your cake looks wonderful, what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteAww, how sweet to snuggle up with your toys.

We have a friend who lives in Australia, that has talked about Vegemite. Rory you look like you cleaned up with all the presents for your Birthday, glad it was a great and Happy one.
ReplyDeleteHamish & Sophie
An Aussie friend once sent me vegemite and I thought it was quite good. However, the dogs in the house those years ago, politely declined after one smell!
ReplyDeleteWe love your birthday stuffees and its good of you to share with Stella down under.
Cheers,
Jo Up Over
I've had vegemite before! Our friends Denise and Bryan from Oz brought us some when they came to visit. We liked it but we wouldn't want to eat it every day on our toast.
ReplyDeleteWe think your pear cake looks delicious, Rory!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Sorry but I is sitting here saying BLECH. The "veg" in Vegemite be enuff to turn my stomach, altho my veggie mom would prolly like it seeing as it has "veg" in it. And pears, BLECH! No chicken jerky cake?
ReplyDeleteFellow Aussie’s and vegemite love household here :) our Roxy enjoys a piece of vegemite toast as well Rory.
ReplyDeleteThe pear cake looks divine!

ReplyDeleteThat sure is a suuuuper breakfast!
Vegemite is something we don't have here... but we have heard a lot about it... pros and cons!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
And your yummilicious cake too!
Kisses and hugs

What a fantastic birthday you had, and what wonderful Dane-sized stuffies! We also love your expression on your new header, Rory.
ReplyDeleteWe are unclear what vegemite tastes like. It looks kind of like treacle. Does it have a honey or syrupy taste? We'd have to have a sniff before we could venture an opinion, but as long as you love it, that's really all you need to care about, isn't it? After all, your birthday is about YOUR favorite foods!
Jed & Abby
Well, the cake looked DELISH!! Happy Birthday Rory!
ReplyDeleteWyatt and Stanzie
Rory, dad and YoYoMa would have joined you for breakfast! The rest of the WDA and momma would have brought our own noshes! bol! Looks like your birthday was perfect with your favorite morning treat, a special cake AND great stuffies! It was nice of you to share.

You had a wonderful birthday from the looks of it. And it's best to let poor Mum at least comb her hair and feel pretty, or she'll be grouchy about the pictures. Trust me on this one! Hope you get lots of Vegemite sandwiches, even on regular days!
ReplyDeletexoxo Marjie
