In the morning I had watched my younger brother play. It was very cold and I am glad mum had my rug cause I was shivering. It was 2C (35.6 F) overnight and there was frost on the grass.
Then in the afternoon we went back to watch my older brother play and it was a little warmer 12C (53.6 F).
The siren starts the game and I wasn't even scared.
Spectators like to sit in their cars around the oval and beep their horns when their team gets a goal.
My brother is a Ruckman. He has to jump very high and tap the ball to his team mates.
I have snuggled next to sister to keep warm.
There is lots of running, kicking and handballing. In our AFL (Australian Football League) which is an Australia wide competition, some footballers run an average of 15 kms (9 miles) during a game. They are extremely fit. Our boys aren't quite in that league but they try hard.
This is my brother knocking the ball out to a team mate.
When a player marks (catches) the ball they get a free kick and you must stand back and not tackle them.
We had a fun day and today we played very well and won the game.
Hurray for my brothers.
I can't wait to go again. Lots of people came and gave me a pat. I had some treats to eat and spent all day with my family. What a great Saturday. See you all soon.
No worries, and love, Stella

Hi Stella!! I am soooooo glad that you got to go with your sister to watch your brother play football. What a FUN Family day!! I'm all about FAMILY!!
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty yellow argyle sweater, Stella. Looks like you enjoy snuggling close to Cousin Tyler, as well as your two-legged family members. Tyler looks like such a good protector for you.
ReplyDeleteMama likes American football, so we watch that in season. Your football players run all the time like our basketball players, and the way they handle the ball all the time gives them nice, strong arms, too. Couldn't ask for a better conditioning program. Our spectators like to line the field [if there are no stands] so they can jump up and down and yell during the games. Just don't give way to temptation and try to race onto the field to catch that ball! We've seen the way your teams jump on the ball and fight for it - much too rough for you.
